Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of light colored corn syrup
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
- 3 cups of nuts of your choice (amazing with almonds, peanuts or cashews as well!)
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in a 3 quart saucepan. Stir sugar to dissolve. Bring to boil, add butter and stir until it melts. Clip candy thermometer onto the side of the pan. Continue to boil at a medium low heat, stir occasionally until temperature reaches 280°F. This is the soft crack stage. Stir in nuts mixed with baking soda and boil for a few more minutes. Remove from heat, pour onto buttered cookie sheet and stretch with forks.
